We’re very proud of Salt House- we set out to achieve a balance between aesthetics, appropriateness to the beautiful site and surroundings, and strong technical performance and we like to think that we found that balance. The stripped- back calm, the contemporary shape and look of the house is welcome in this area of eclectic properties and the house is storm- proofed for winter comfort. The site enjoys excellent views over Donegal Bay, and the large windows on the southwest façade take full advantage while windows to the northern side are small to minimise heat loss there. Designed to be used initially as a weekend home, and later as a place of retirement, the house is tailored to the beach lifestyle. The layout is based around an open plan living, kitchen and dining area and includes four bedrooms, with everything held comfortably in a traditional and very cost- effective building form. Allied to a technical specification that gives us an A1 Building Energy Rating, we feel that Salt House is for relaxed, easy living and it more than exceeds the expectations we and our clients had at the beginning of the journey.

With regards to the project of renovating and building an extension to our family home, the advice and input from Mr. Allan was excellent regarding involvement with design options and also liaising with Building Control and the Contractor.
Malcolm, Co. FermanaghA very knowledgeable and professional service. Will make your project become a reality with a no fuss, can do ethos. Extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.
Marshall Clarke, Co. FermanaghThis was our first self-build and we were impressed by the helpful advice we received from the initial planning through to completion of the build. Roci was careful to warn us of the financial implications of any decisions which helped to keep us within our budget. We wanted a modern innovative design which was economical to heat and maintain and we have been delighted with the result. The design also incorporated features which maximize the particular strengths of our unusual site. We also required the renovation of an old mill and the architectural advice received was also invaluable both in obtaining planning consent and enabling us to achieve our objectives whilst staying within our budget. Overall we have been delighted with the project and remain grateful for the quality of the advice and communication which we received from the architect which enable us to enjoy the experience from start to completion.
